Did Robin Williams Plan His Estate In A Fashion That Would Avoid Court Proceedings And Expensive Litigation

We are so sorry to hear that Robin Williams died at age 63. What a great entertainer, comedian and actor. He made us all laugh whether he was Mrs.Doubtfire or singing Good Morning Vietnam. One can easily wonder: Did he have a proper estate plan in place? Even movie stars need a trust, will, power of attorney and advanced healthcare or medical directive. In leaving his wife and children, did he protect them and his assets? Did he minimize probate fees and federal estate taxes? Did he plan his estate in a fashion that would avoid court proceedings and expensive litigation? Did he keep those choices out of the hands of the court? If so, he would have taken the additional worry off of his family during this very difficult time for them.
